Every summer season there is a new haircut which seems to be inspired by celebrities and runways, as well as hair shows when we can see hair models with the latest styles walking down the runway to showcase haircuts that have been just created, as well as haircuts that have again become popular. Through the use of the wedge haircut, the individual can choose a versatile style that can be made to appear in a variety of different ways through the use of differently cut bangs, or even through the use of layers throughout the style, and the use of colors with the wedge haircut.
The origin of the wedge haircut has come from the seventies, in which it was created by a stylist that was employed at the famous Vidal Sassoon salon. Through the style, of which most often includes bangs which are swept to the side and a haircut that can be easily straightened and styled through the use of a minimal amount of products. This haircut was created by the stylist to set him apart from others and it worked! It is one of the most popular haircuts that have become a popular haircut through the season of summer 2009, with many women, as well as men seeking to get the haircut.
The wedge haircut is considered to be a short haircut, but it has also been styled with medium hair. Although hairstyles which are most often created with the wedge haircut are often cut below the jaw line, hair cuts that would be considered medium are often closer to the shoulders. The versatile cut remains in style as one of the most fun, innovative and trendy hairstyles that can be seen this season.

Going too short with a chubby face will make you look chubbier. I would say as long as the front layers are hitting your shoulders, it would look great! The same style just a little longer. Hope this helps.

I absouletly love this hairstyle! It’s exactly how i want mine but I’m worried because I have a long skinny face and i’m tall (5′8″).. would this look weird on me?

Hi Stacey,
I think that it would be fine, as long as you made sure there is a lot of volume within the style! Make sure that your hair isn’t cut too thin, as it can cause your face to look longer (:

I have long, curly hair and I love it. It’s past my shoulders and I always go with layers and side swept bangs. But I want something different. I have tried short hairstyles before but I always end up missing my long hair. It grows fast but I’m not sure if I should try a short or medium hair cut.
