There are many ways that you can increase the speed of hair growth on your head. Through methods such as topical treatments as well as vitamin and nutrient supplements the hair can be encouraged to grow longer, as well as thicker.
Here are some of the common ways that to grow long hair faster:
Increasing the amount of vitamin E and folic acid within the diet, or using supplements can encourage hair growth and increase the length of the hair. These vitamins when incorporated into the body can absorb into the cells that increase hair growth, but also have the ability to increase the appearance of the skin.
Use shampoo that contains ingredients which are known to promote hair growth. These shampoos are available through salons, as well as some beauty supply stores. Topical ingredients are applied to the hair through the use of the shampoo, which is often left on the hair for longer amounts of time than traditional shampoo to increase the effectiveness.
Drinking water can be an effective way to remove the toxins from the body, create good health and stimulate hair growth. Maintaining a healthy body is the best way to ensure that long hair can be grown faster.

Whoever left the comment about Marcie was very rude and had not right to say anything so conceited and cruel. Marcie I am sure you are a beautiful young lady, and don’t let rude comments like the one left earlier get you down. Some people just have to make others feel bad to make themselves feel good. How that works I dont know, but so many people work that way.

I have to wear clip in extensions which I hate
They’re expensive and get extremely split easily. My hair’s just below my shoulders and I feel too self conscious to go out with it that length.

i baught herbal essences split end protection which is helping as it really protects the ends so you have to cut off less each time, i bought the whole lot, shampoo, conditioner, conditioning mask and leave in conditioner. i also use lee stafford heat protection and serum which is quite expensive but worth it if you wanna use heat tools without too much damage.
cut hair often and use a conditioning mask, avoid straightning, curling, blow drying crimping too often and use heat protection, my hair has grown 1 cm in 2 weeks! i am really pleased because i wanna grow my hair out to as long as maria kanellis hair! she has beautiful hair!

Alright guys go to your nearest salon and get scalp treatments. If they do electrotherapy do that at least twice a month. And whenever u are in the shower, shampoo your hair very well for a long period of time really working at the scalp. Brush your hair often as well. All of these help stimulate the scalp which causes hair growth to increase. Also look into Nioxin products, I have heard they are coming out with some over the counter vitamin supplements for hair growth as well. I am a cosmetologist and to conclude this novel on hair growth im writing i must say that all hair types are different and these are just ways that stimulate hair growth, if you dont find thats its working for you all i can say is you will have to grow it out the old fashioned way…wait.
NOTE*** the average rate of hair growth is 1/2 inch per month-this should help u figure out about how long it will take you to grow your hair out

The article hits most of the best ways to get hair growth quickly, nutrition and water. The other ingredients are exercise, sleep, and getting rid of stress. Stress can actually cause your hair to get thinner and fall out. Hair is made of mostly protein and calcium (with a few other minerals / nutrients) delivered by blood to the roots. Basically, you have to be healthy to grow your best hair. More specifically, your hair needs oportunity to grow, so increasing the blood flow, nutrients in the blood, and growth time (sleep) will allow your hair to grow its best. Extended exercise that keeps your heart rate up increases blood flow to the whole body, including the hair roots. If your body does not have enough protien, calcium, vitamin E, or water, there will not be enough left for the hair roots to use to their maximum, so harsh diets are a no-no. Your body does most of its growth, healing, and getting rid of stress symptoms while it sleeps.
So, to recap.
Sleep (at LEAST 8 hours each day, more sleep the younger under 20 you are)
Exercise for extended sessions (heart rate up for over 30 minutes)
Water (at LEAST 8 cups a day, more when you exercise or get hot)
Protein (fish and eggs are best, look up “complete essential protein”)
Calcium (MILK! It does a body good!)
Vitamin E (again, fish. look up others)
Don’t skip breakfast (most important meal for hair growth and body figure)
No harsh diets (harsh diet will ruin all your other work for hair)
If you do all of those, you’ll also have better skin, nails, and body. Yes, body shape, too. Eating right, getting enough water, and getting enough sleep will help your body regulate itself for your best natural “form.”
I’m a guy, was in track, and the military. When I ran all the time, my hair grew over a foot per year. When I was in the military, on days we had exercise, I had to shave again at lunch, because my hair grew faster, because my heart rate was up for an extended time.

hi guys,
Patience can help your hair grow longer because if you cant wait you will surely cut your hair when facing a mirror. so have time to wait and never cut your hair even an inch. Use shampoo that contains aloevera or scrub your scalp using onions. Smells bad but it works. just try. btw scrubbing garlic to your nails will make it grow fast too. tc!
;) oh baby.
June 17th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
okk garlic to your nails? sounds weird. but that’s sweet.
so my hair in the back is about down to my bra strap.
i want it looonng! long hair is super pretty.
but it’s taking forever to grow, i want like shampoo or something to make it grow faster.. what do you think is best?

June 17th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
lol, yes garlic is effective. (showing nails in your monitor*) if you really want a shampoo to grow your hair fast. there are no chemical based that could help your hair grow faster… instead use natural like fresh coconut milk… scrub onions to your scalp. This is it

Hair growing requires Patience! If you are growing very short hair to very long hair there are different techniques you can use to achieve your fastest hair growth rate. However this depends on each individual, as unfortunately there is no quick fix to go to sleep with shoulder length hair and wake up with waist length hair .if this is your desire extensions are the only reliable option. Hair usually grows 1/2 an inch per month and in rare cases example “crystal gale” 1 inch. If you are truly committed to growing super long hair then please follow these steps (note: this is not for the easily disheartened)
Do you have extremely dry unmanageable hair with split ends or is short and frustrating?
This can be very distressing and is usually due to over dying, heat styling or a chemical curly or straight perm disaster. To gain those long lushes locks these are the best steps.
Before beginning to grow your hair you must rid yourself of dryness and split ends so use plenty of Deep conditioning treatments. Choose a deep nourishing shampoo and conditioner for your hair type usually coconut; honey or fruit based are your best types. Pantene breakage defence and herbal essences split ends collection are a good recommendation and don’t cost as much as salon products but work great.
Use more conditioner then shampoo as over shampooing rids hair of its natural oils and can increase the damage. Try and stay away from heat stylers, as this will also increase damage. Book a consultation with a hair dresser explain to them your goals and ask how much they recommend cutting off to remove splits. Cut of all possible damaged hair and do not begin to grow hair until it is healthy as unhealthy long hair is not attractive and time consuming from reaching your dream.
Have an oil treatment once a week that you can carry through at home. Oil that is proven to relax perm disasters is grape seed oil, which you should be able to pick up in your local supermarket. Comb the oil through to the ends of the hair and leave for 1-3 hours. Other oils that replenish dry areas and work best on normal dry hair are Aloe Vera oil that can be found in most Indian shops and olive oil work in to hair and leave for at least one hour but not more then 4 as it may irritate scalp.
Take hair vitamins recommendations are Perfectill, which you can find in boots and Hollands and Barrats skin hair and nails supplement. These help to strengthen the hair root allowing you to grow to your optimum length as the root strengthens it can hold more hair length.
Finally you should be on your way to lush long hair maintain trims but do not have dramatic cuts and embrace your awkward lengths by trying new styles and remind yourself of your goal to help fight of temptation of cutting in stylish short cuts. Eat a healthy balanced diet drink 8 glasses of water and have plenty of sleep.
Good luck keep growing!

alright. i’m 19. my freshmen year i cut my hair off to about an inch from my scalp. before i cut it it was down to my hips. yeah i know, crazy. it took me two years to grow it back to where it was and i hated myself the whole time, then i went crazy again the end of my junior year and cut it to my shoulders, not as bad as my freshmen year. i used TREsemme shampoo and conditioner. when i shampoo my hair i make sure to massage my scalp, that gets the blood moving and can help in growth plus it feels really good. i found that if when i put the conditioner in and focused my fingertips on the ends of my hair that would make the split ends break off and my hair was healthier, after this i would rinse my hair with warm water and then before i got out of the shower i rinsed it with cold water so the hair pores or whatever close up. i’m going to assume you know what i’m talking about. then i blow dry my hair sometimes, (usually) towel dry it and brush through it until there are no knots or tangles. i shower before i go to bed so this gives me the opportunity to braid my hair and it’s best to braid it while it’s still wet (towel dry and then brush and then braid) while it’s braided and wet the hair is less likely to dry up and break off while you sleep.
okay here’s a tip: if you shower before you go to bed towel dry your hair and then braid it.
only blow dry your hair if you shower in the morning or during the day and you’re going somewhere, the heat can damage hair.

oh yeah forgot to mention. my hair is nearly to my elbows, i trim half an inch off every once in a while to get rid of uneven ends because hair grows unevenly all over. also stress can cause your hair damage as well, it can fall out from stress or an unhealthy diet. also i exercise too to keep me in good spirits so i dont get depressed and my hair wont suffer.
good luck ladies
